Czech police are working to uncover the motive behind the country's worst-ever mass shooting, which saw a student open fire at a university in central Prague, killing 14 and wounding 25 others.

Czech President Petr Pavel calls for unity and discourages using the tragedy for political attacks or misinformation

Police had received a report about the suspect heading to Prague with suicidal intentions before the shooting. The attack may have been inspired by a similar incident in Russia.

Saturday declared a national day of mourning in response to the incident. President Pavel expresses deep sadness and helpless anger over the unnecessary loss of life.
