TATA IPL 2024: BCCI announces full schedule.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India announced on Monday, March 25, the complete schedule for the Indian Premier League 2024. The final will take place on May 26 at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium.
The MA Chidambaram Stadium, also the home of the defending champions Chennai Super Kings, has earlier hosted the finals of the tournament in 2011 and 2012.
The BCCI informed me that the league matches will take place until May 19, while the two qualifiers will take place on May 21 and 24. The elimination event is scheduled for May 22nd.
The BCCI’s IPL managing committee has released the complete schedule comprising of 70 matches, including 21 league matches previously announced and 49 now. Furthermore, two qualifiers, one eliminator, and a final have been announced.
The BCCI stated in its press release that Ahmedabad‘s Narendra Modi Stadium will host an electrifying Qualifier 1 clash on May 21, followed by an exciting Eliminator on May 22. The second round of the qualifying round and the grand finale will be held in Chennai, the home ground of the defending champions, the Chennai Super Kings.
The second round of the Qualifier will take place on May 24, followed by the summit clash on Sunday, May 26. Earlier, the BCCI had only released the schedule for 21 matches until April 7 due to the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 schedule.
